  Problem Solved.

  I had problems with this order as it was damaged in transit by Australia Post resulting in the destruction of 6 bottles of the precious liquid. They provided me with a tick the box note explaining what had occurred. I copied this and took some photos of the arrived pack and sent them to the Beer Cartel. Within 2 hours I received a reply and a pack of replacement bottles was sent. These have now arrived and the order has been fulfilled. I would like to thank Marc for his prompt attention and the rectification of this problem. A job well done. I am very happy with the service that I received from the Beer Cartel and would highly recommend their services. Regarding the beer, Orval is a legendary brew and one of my alltime favourites, I could not recommend it more highly. It takes like nothing I have ever had before and although my initial taste was not that favourable it is now something I really love. It is an acquired taste but it is an easy taste to acquire.

  One of the...

  first visited Belgium over 30 years ago. The beer was a revelation. I'd never had Trappist beer before and in fact I'd never heard of it. I then visited Belgium a few times per year on businesss and holidays for the next 25 years. I tried lots of styles and liked many, but the Trappist Double became my favourite. Orval being one of the very best. Complex flavours that are very enjoyable. In fact Orval has complex pepper and spice flavours more than the others. Best if served not too cold, maybe 6 to 8 C. Enjoy.

  The Best of the best!

  My absolute favourite drop. By a long shot. Orval has been a family favourite for as long as I can remember. The taste, the flavour, the colour. The quality never falters. I am Belgian, from Mons in Wallonia, the french-speaking part of Belgium. Beer Cartel - you are doing an awesome job at getting stock over here in Australia! PS - In French it is 'Un Orval', not 'Une Orval'

  Yum

  Bought two to see what the fuss was about. The first was a touch underwhelming and very fizzy. For some reason I really enjoyed the second (maybe because I wasn't expecting so much) and now I can't wait to try more

  From Belgium (what a guess) is called ORVAL. Made from malted barely, is at 6.2% alc. Poured into glass and headed up a lot. Took three goes to empty the bottle! Very tall head, aroma was mild and few bubbles. First taste was again creamy natured, and a bit familiar with others. Rated, 6 (was hoping for more) Anyway, cheers

  A world class beer - not what you'd expect from a Trappist Brewery

  This beer really is not what you'd expect from a Trappist brewery. After tasting beers from Chimay, Westmalle, La Trappe...etc. A bit of tart funk on the nose with hints of barnyard from that brett? It has such a soft mouth feel, almost silky smooth. Though, it is very well balanced and has nice bitter fruity spicy notes. Has been my favourite Trappist beer for some time. If only it was more available!

  I don't know what the fuss is about

  Has a herb like aroma with a dry spicy finish, nice beer but not amazing -- I did get in trouble on untappd as other users wanted my head for that comment LOL

  As good as it gets

  The iconic dry Trappist Ale which inspires so many tributes and clones, it is dry hopped and fermented with Brettanomyces in addition to Saccharomyces. Dry with amazing complexity from the Brett which develops over time, so this one is definitely worth a place in the cellar to try as time goes by. A truly great beer.

  Quality yeast esters on the nose. Dense head with banana and fig flavours.
